Toraja House Papercraft (Tongkonan)

Tongkonan is a traditional house traditional Toraja community. The roof has a boat like shape, comprising the composition of bamboo (to date partially tongkonan receipts the tin roof). At the front there is a row of water buffalo horn. The inside of the room used as a bed and kitchen. Even tongkonan used also as a tomb. Tongkonan derived from the word tongkon (meaning sit together). Tongkonan divided based on the level or role in society (social hirarchy in Toraja). In front the tongkonan is granary, called 'alang'. Poles barns are made from palm tree trunks (bangah) is currently partly already use concrete, In front of the barn there are various carvings, among others, illustrated chicken and sun, a symbol for the complete case.
